Last Friday, Kyran, my youngest son Christian and I drove down to Miami for the day.  None of us had been before so we were very excited!
The weather was perfect with beautiful cool breezes.
We walked around the Art Deco district, all these buildings were built in the 20's and 30's.
During the 70's there was a plan to tear them down but, fortunately, an historical society stepped in and saved them.  They're all being restored now.
 Lots of hotels and restaurants.
 This one looks fancy!
 My handsome little man:)

Next time we go we'll definitely stay overnight.

Hi Victoria,

These are some really great photos. I love the wooden pathway and the photo with the aqua umbrellas along the beach is gorgeous! I've never been to Miami. I've spent time in Panama City Beach, Daytona beach (which I wasn't to keen on) and I have a friend who lives in Bradenton so I've been to visit there. She took me to Sarasota which I loved!

I hope you are getting settled in your nest now. Stop by and enter my Christmas giveaway here: :)

Although I lived in Florida for 20+ years, I have never been to Miami. I've been as far south as Fort Lauderdale but that is it. I would love to go there one day, though, and your photos just reinforce that desire.

Looks like y'all had an awesome time...and you know what the photo of the Marlin reminded me of...A Hole in the Head. Have you seen that film? It's a Frank Sinatra movie. He runs a little hotel on Miami Beach. I could picture him and his cute little boy running that hotel.

I'm so glad Christian was able to visit. Now it's Michael's turn!!

Dearest Victoria,
It will be great for spending a night indeed as the driving eats up big part of the day... But you are near all this and can go many times and discover so many different things there.
Great photos and important is you enjoyed it with the boys!
Hugs to you,

I was so glad to read how much you love the preparation for T-day too Victoria. I just love making all the pies, rolls and stuff,(maybe even more than eating it).

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your sweet family!

I just love SoBeach.. I lived in the Miami area off and on as a child and moved back in the 90's.. but it's much too busy so I moved across the state to Clearwater.. much nicer.
Yes it's beautiful as a tourist but living there is much to much work.
Great shots of the Art Deco area of the beach...

Miami is a lot of fun. Mike and I stayed there a few times for a weekend away. We have also taken the boys there for the day and they just loved to people watch. Last summer we went and Mike got a tattoo...the boys and I hung outside most of the time and boy was that interesting:) Great food and fun for sure!
